Tresco is a small, family-run island, about two and a half miles long and a mile wide, and one of the five inhabited islands of the Isles of Scilly—a stunning Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. In 1834, the Duchy of Cornwall leased the islands to Augustus Smith, a Hertfordshire squire, who became the Lord Proprietor. He established his home at Tresco Abbey and created a world-class garden that has become renowned for its sub-tropical flora and fauna

Tresco Abbey Garden is a spectacular sight, featuring plants from every Mediterranean climate zone and over 2,000 specimens from the southern hemisphere and tropics.
